SCORING SUMMARY

FIRST QUARTER

CHICAGO: Barry Minter, 34-yard interception return (Chris Boniol kick), 5 minutes 59 seconds left.
How they scored: On second and 7, Brett Favre locked on to Bill Schroeder, who was running a short inside route against cornerback Terry Cousin. Minter, the weak-side linebacker, read Favre's eyes and cut in front of Schoeder as the ball arrived. Minter easily returned the interception for the touchdown as Favre didn't even attempt to run over and make the tackle. "The tight end went into the flat and Brett didn't see the linebacker," wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett said. "The linebacker was going to the flat and he was in the right place at the right time. He got lucky."
Bears 7, Packers 0.

SECOND QUARTER

CHICAGO: Boniol, 24-yard field goal, 11:46 left.
How they scored: A penalty on Marco Rivera ruined a drive and preceded a punt. On third and 8, Curtis Enis ran a draw off left tackle for 19 yards as LeRoy Butler was blocked in the hole and Fred Vinson missed the tackle 14 yards downfield. "We were in a three-man line and we just didn't squeeze it," defensive end Vonnie Holliday said. Marcus Robinson caught a 12-yard hook pass against Tyrone Williams. On second and 8, Curtis Conway caught a quick screen on the left, broke into the middle of the field and gained 22 yards to the 11. Conway recovered his own fumble when he was finally tackled, but along the way Santana Dotson, Gilbert Brown, George Koonce and Butler missed the tackle. "I audibled to it," Shane Matthews said. "That's one time they did blitz." From there, Matthews scrambled for 7, Enis failed to gain and Matthews had to recover his own fumble on a botched quarterback draw on third down. "We mishandled (the snap) or I would have walked in," Matthews said. "When we spread people out a lot of times they vacate and there's nobody in the middle. LeRoy Butler vacated."
The drive: 10 plays, 63 yards, 4:40. Bears 10, Packers 0.

GREEN BAY: Bill Schroeder, 6-yard pass from Favre (Ryan Longwell kick), 7:07 left.
How they scored: Basil Mitchell had to make a diving recovery of Boniol's short kickoff into the wind when the Packers foolishly let it bounce. "This kid (Boniol) just can't kick off," special teams coach Steve Ortmayer said. On third and 5, Antonio Freeman caught a short crossing route and turned it into a 20-yard gain against sloppy zone coverage underneath. After Mitchell ran hard and gained 6 on a draw, Schroeder beat Terry Cousin on a hitch route for 12. De'Mond Parker swept right end, broke tackles by Tony Parrish and Chris Hudson, and gained 22 yards to the 11. On third and 5, Favre drilled a 6-yard slant pass to Schroeder for the touchdown. Schroeder beat Walt Harris. "Billy set it up real nice," Baggett said. "He juked the guy inside, gave him an outside move and then beat him to the inside. Two of them went with Free (Freeman) when he cleared to the inside."
The drive: Nine plays, 76 yards, 4:39. Bears 10, Packers 7.

GREEN BAY: William Henderson, 2-yard run (Longwell kick), 3:43 left.
How they scored: Todd Sauerbrun's line-drive punt into the wind carried 27 yards and was returned 11 yards by Antuan Edwards to the Chicago 29. On third and 9, Favre danced up in the pocket under pressure and at the last instant flipped a pass to Freeman, who was crossing in front of him. The gain was 17 yards to the Bears' 11. "Brett did a hell of a job waiting on it because he almost got sacked," Baggett said. On second and 10, Cousin was penalized 10 yards for interfering with Corey Bradford on an end-zone fade. "Brett looks to see if Corey has one on one," Baggett said. "It's Corey's job to beat the guy and set it up." Henderson lost a yard on first and goal, then plowed through right guard for the touchdown.
The drive: Six plays, 29 yards, 2:09. Packers 14, Bears 10.

GREEN BAY: Keith McKenzie, 45-yard fumble return (Longwell kick), 1:09 left.
How they scored: Alonzo Mayes dropped a 14-yard pass on third and 2, forcing a punt. Sauerbrun juggled the snap, then fumbled the ball when Keith Crawford cut inside Ryan Wetnight and applied heavy pressure. McKenzie picked up the ball, broke tackles by Wetnight and Sauerbrun and ran down the middle of the field for the touchdown. "With the elements the way they were we felt we had to have somebody on the punter all day," Ortmayer said. "Keith took that seriously and made a play. He's a veteran."
Packers 21, Bears 10.

CHICAGO: Boniol, 23-yard field goal, 7 seconds left.
How they scored: On the Bears' first play, Bobby Engram caught a 12-yard slant between linebackers Anthony Davis and Jude Waddy. He ran into the middle, where Darren Sharper hit him high and tried to strip the ball. Engram shook him off at the Green Bay 42 and gained an extra 31 yards to the Green Bay 11 before Waddy caught him after a gain of 56. "There was a small window," Matthews said. "He's not the primary receiver but I looked outside and just saw him flash." From there, Enis gained 5 on a pass, Dotson pressured Matthews into a throw-away and Matthews threw high for Robinson in the end zone against excellent coverage.
The drive: Five plays, 61 yards, 1:02. Packers 21, Bears 13.

THIRD QUARTER

CHICAGO: Enis, 1-yard run (pass failed), 19 seconds left.
How they scored: Edwards fielded a low 65-yard punt, gathered himself and fumbled when stripped by Jerry Azumah. Bears safety Frankie Smith recovered at the Green Bay 18. "When the ball was on the ground he thought he had time to pick it up," Ortmayer said. "It slipped out of his hand." Enis barreled for gains of 6 and 7 yards for a first down at the 2, then scored on second down. On the pass for two points, Matthews was rushed hard and overthrew Engram in the corner against Tyrone Williams.
The drive: Five plays, 18 yards, 2:36. Packers 21, Bears 19.

FOURTH QUARTER

GREEN BAY: Parker, 12-yard run (Longwell kick), 9:02 left.
How they scored: Favre scrambled right for 10 yards. After Parker lost a yard and then gained 2 on a pass, Freeman beat Azumah from the slot left and Favre delivered the ball for an 11-yard reception. Parker broke tackles by Minter and Parrish for a 14-yard gain to the Green Bay 49. Jim Flanigan beat Marco Rivera with a spin move for a 9-yard sack, but on third and 15 Freeman ran an in route against Walt Harris for 33 yards. "They were even holding Free and he still got open," Baggett said. "It shows you how much he was willing to work his (expletive) off to get open." Parker exploded around the left side for 11 to the Bears' 12. On the next play, Harris missed Parker in the backfield and the rookie outran Warrick Holdman and Chris Hudson to the right pylon for the touchdown.
The drive: 11 plays, 88 yards, 6:17. Packers 28, Bears 19.

GREEN BAY: Parker, 21-yard run (Longwell kick), 3:08 left.
How they scored: Parker sprinted outside Minter and around left end, picking up 14. On third and 5, tight end Lamont Hall caught a 9-yard pass off bootleg action. On second and 6, Henderson blocked Holdman on the right side, Hudson overran the play inside the 10 and Parker plowed through traffic at the 5 and into the end zone.
The drive: Seven plays, 60 yards, 3:37. Packers 35, Bears 19.
