SCORING SUMMARY

FIRST QUARTER

No scoring.

SECOND QUARTER

BUFFALO: Jeremy McDaniel, 6-yard pass from Rob Johnson (Steve Christie kick), 44 seconds left. How they scored: On the first play Eric Moulds ran a sidelinecomeback route with Antuan Edwards in coverage. Edwards missed the tackle, enabling Moulds to turn a 15-yard route into a 22-yard gain to the Green Bay 32. Given all day to throw, Johnson waited for Peerless Price to come free across the middle for a gain of 14. After two plays gained 1 yard, Tod McBride gave excessive cushion to Price, who cut in front of him on a slant for 11 yards to the 6. On the next play linebacker Na'il Diggs allowed McDaniel to cross his face into a hole in the end-zone zone coverage, and Johnson's pass was on the mark for the score. The drive: Six plays, 54 yards, 1 minute, 31 seconds time of possession. Bills 7, Packers 0.

BUFFALO: Christie, 45-yard field goal, time expired. How they scored: Allen Rossum made a spinning return of the kickoff for 41 yards to the Bills' 49. Brett Favre passed to Ahman Green for 8, then cornerback Ken Irvin was penalized 8 yards for interfering with Charles Lee on a slant. On the next play defensive end Marcellus Wiley beat Mike Wahle around the corner and hit Favre's arm as he threw. "Never saw him or heard him," Favre said. Defensive end Phil Hansen recovered the bouncing fumble and returned it 29 yards to the Green Bay 27. The drive: Two plays, no yards, 11 seconds. Bills 10, Packers 0.

THIRD QUARTER

BUFFALO: Jay Riemersma, 6-yard pass from Johnson (Christie kick), 11:58 left. How they scored: Antowain Smith barged through right tackle for 16 yards. Johnson faked a run, then hit Riemersma for 26 yards behind Bernardo Harris and in front of a two-deep secondary look. Johnson passed 12 yards to tight end Sheldon Jackson on a bootleg against a blitz to the Green Bay 6. On the next play Johnson had his choice of two or three wide-open receivers on a bootleg right. He chose Riemersma underneath, and when Edwards missed the tackle at the 3 it became a touchdown. The drive: Five plays, 65 yards, 3:02. Bills 17, Packers 0.

GREEN BAY: Antonio Freeman, 7-yard pass from Favre (Longwell kick), 7:53 left. How they scored: Freeman made a nice sideline catch for 15 yards with Antoine Winfield in coverage. Freeman caught a slant against Winfield for 10. Freeman made an exceptional catch of a high pass for 16. Favre pumped twice and William Henderson decided to turn his flat route upfield. Favre arched the ball perfectly to Henderson for 25 yards behind linebacker Sam Cowart. On the next play Bill Schroeder cut to the corner and Freeman beat safety Keion Carpenter on a stop route just beyond the goal line for the touchdown. "It was designed to go to Billy but the cornerback (Winfield) backed up," Favre said. The drive: Seven plays, 80 yards, 4:05. Bills 17, Packers 7.

BUFFALO: Christie, 20-yard field goal, 4:42 left. How they scored: Rossum returned a punt 5 yards and then fumbled when hit by linebacker Jay Foreman. "I just didn't do a good job of protecting it," Rossum said. "The second guy (Foreman) made a heck of a play." Two runs gained 2 yards before Johnson threw wildly to Moulds in the corner against Tyrone Williams. The drive: Four plays, 2 yards, 1:07. Bills 20, Packers 7.

GREEN BAY: Longwell, 24-yard field goal, 40 seconds left. How they scored: On third and 18 Johnson tried to throw a screen pass to Shawn Bryson but it was intercepted by Vonnie Holliday. Scott McGarrahan drilled Johnson after the throw. Starting from the Bills 13, linebacker John Holecek tipped away a pass to Tyrone Davis in the end zone, a pass to Bubba Franks gained 7 and Favre overthrew Franks in the end zone. The drive: Four plays, 7 yards, 40 seconds. Bills 20, Packers 10.

FOURTH QUARTER

BUFFALO: Riemersma, 14-yard pass from Johnson (Christie kick), 11:45 left. How they scored: Ryan Longwell's short kickoff was returned 21 yards by Chris Watson to the Buffalo 37. After Jackson dropped a pass in the flat, Johnson hit Moulds for 14 on third and 9. Rookie Gary Berry, substituting in the dime for Antuan Edwards, missed the tackle enabling Moulds to secure the first down. A third-and-5 slant for Price was incomplete but McBride was penalized 7 yards for pass interference. On the next play Johnson looked left and then went back to the right side to Riemersma, who had eluded Diggs on a corner route. Officials ruled that Riemersma had placed the ball across the plane of the goal line. "That was just a back-side route and we noticed early in the game when he scrambled that he was wide open and they forgot to cover him," Johnson said. "We came back to the play and again he was wide open." The drive: Eight plays, 53 yards, 3:55. Bills 27, Packers 10.

GREEN BAY: Freeman, 18-yard pass from Favre (Davis, pass from Favre), 35 seconds left. How they scored: Favre found Charles Lee for 11. Pat Williams broke through the right side of the offensive line on third down to sack Favre for minus-7, but on fourth and 17 Donald Driver turned a 30-yard post pattern into a 49-yard gain by making Carpenter miss the tackle. On third and 1 from the 18 Freeman caught a short pass in the left flat and then broke up the field behind Winfield for the touchdown. "A flat route," Favre said. "If he doesn't get it you turn it up." Favre's two-point conversion pass bounced off Green's hands and caromed right to Davis, who was behind him in the end zone. The drive: Eight plays, 80 yards, 1:10. Bills 27, Packers 18.
