SCORING SUMMARY

FIRST QUARTER

CHICAGO: Cade McNown, 1-yard run (Paul Edinger kick), 12 minutes 18 seconds left. How they scored: On the first play from scrimmage, Brett Favre's long pass to Bubba Franks was intercepted by safety Tony Parrish, who returned 36 yards to the Green Bay 17. Franks, who was covered by middle linebacker Brian Urlacher, appeared to stumble just as the ball arrived. "We were in two-deep zone and Favre threw the ball over the middle and it seemed to hang up in the air," Parrish said. After two runs gained 7 yards, McNown arched a short pass over blitzing cornerback Tod McBride to fullback Curtis Enis for 6 yards to the 4. After Enis plowed to the 1, McNown followed tight end John Allred's block on an option keeper left for the score. "We weren't expecting an option," linebacker Na'il Diggs said.
The drive: Five plays, 17 yards, 2:22 time of possession. Bears 7, Packers 0.

CHICAGO: Edinger, 19-yard field goal, 4:38 left. How they scored: Josh Bidwell's 34-yard punt carried to the Bears' 45. On the first play, Eddie Kennison fumbled in the backfield on an end-around reverse. Kennison scooped it up on the run, evaded a tackle by LeRoy Butler and raced 52 yards to the 3. "I missed a clean tackle," Butler said. Said Kennison: "When I dropped the ball it bounced right up into my hands and I cut it up. Curtis Enis gave me a real nice block on the outside and I hit the sideline." From there, James Allen gained 2 at left guard, failed to gain at right guard when hit by Russell Maryland and failed to gain at left tackle on third down with McBride and Nate Wayne at the point of attack.
The drive: Five plays, 54 yards, 2:44. Bears 10, Packers 0.

SECOND QUARTER

CHICAGO: Marcus Robinson, 68-yard pass from McNown (Edinger kick), 9:07 left. How they scored: A 14-yard completion to Donald Driver at the Chicago 24 was overturned by a replay challenge from Bears coach Dick Jauron. Replay showed Driver trapped the ball. That set up third and 10, and Urlacher chased down Favre for a 6-yard sack that was followed by Bidwell's touchback. On the third play, McNown escaped a diving Billy Lyon and scrambled a few steps to his right. With a defender bearing down on him, McNown didn't see Kennison wide open in front of the Green Bay bench. Instead, he hurled a lollypop downfield that Robinson caught at the 21 in a three-man jump ball with Tyrone Williams and Butler. When both defenders fell down, Robinson waltzed in for the score. "I saw Cade scrambling," Robinson said. "I was able to get behind their defense. He threw the ball up in the air and I'm taller than the DBs."
The drive: Three plays, 80 yards, 1:27. Bears 17, Packers 0.

GREEN BAY: Ryan Longwell, 42-yard field goal, 4:48 left. How they scored: Allen Rossum returned the kickoff 37 yards. Favre hit Bill Schroeder for 5, then Dorsey Levens for 7. Levens bounced off the right side for 5 and a first down at the Chicago 32. From there, Jim Flanigan stopped Ahman Green for no gain, Schroeder caught an 8-yard pass and William Henderson dropped a pass in the end zone. "I was off balance and falling backward," Henderson said. "It's a tough catch but I'm a professional athlete. I have to make it." Favre scrambled right and found Henderson, who was behind Parrish.
The drive: Eight plays, 34 yards, 4:19. Bears 17, Packers 3.

THIRD QUARTER

CHICAGO: Robinson, 58-yard pass from McNown (Edinger kick), 5:35 left. How they scored: Bidwell's weak punt rolled to the 1. On second down, McNown scrambled left around Brian Williams and gave the Bears breathing room at the 18. On third and 6, the Packers blitzed again and McNown found Marty Booker for 6 yards with Darren Sharper in coverage. Two runs by Allen produced a first down at the Green Bay 40. On second and 8, McNown threw a quick wide-receiver screen to Robinson on the left side. Robinson sliced between Butler and Tyrone Williams, then outran Sharper to the end zone. "We caught them in the right defense," Robinson said. "They were blitzing. I got a real good block and I used my speed to outrun them."
The drive: Nine plays, 99 yards, 5:19. Bears 24, Packers 3.

GREEN BAY: Antonio Freeman, 14-yard pass from Favre (Longwell kick), 2:36 left. How they scored: On third and 7, Phillip Daniels wanted a holding penalty on Mike Wahle but didn't get it as Favre completed a 21-yard pass to Driver. Bubba Franks worked inside against Warrick Holdman for a 16-yard reception. Schroeder beat Thomas Smith on an out cut for 17 to the 14. On the next play, Freeman lined up just to the outside of right tackle Mark Tauscher. He released cleanly into the secondary, angled into the middle and was wide open for the score. The nearest defenders were Holdman and Parrish.
The drive: Six plays, 71 yards, 2:59. Bears 24, Packers 10.

FOURTH QUARTER

GREEN BAY: Schroeder, 17-yard pass from Favre (Longwell kick), 8:44 left. How they scored: Favre hit Levens for gains of 9 and 10 yards, then Levens limped off with an aggravated ankle injury. After Driver dropped a short pass, Green gained 18 on a draw to the Bears' 36. Driver ran a post against Thomas Smith for 19 yards. After Green dropped a pass in the left flat, Schroeder beat nickel back Jerry Azumah in the right corner for the touchdown.
The drive: Eight plays, 87 yards, 3:55. Bears 24, Packers 17.

CHICAGO: Edinger, 47-yard field goal, 3:15 left. How they scored: On the Bears' first play, wide receiver Macey Brooks was penalized 10 yards for holding. But McNown scrambled up the middle for 14 on second down and then Booker gained 8 on a hitch route with a blocker ahead on Tyrone Williams. Allen sliced off right tackle and burst for 21 yards when McBride missed the tackle. A 9-yard pass to Allred and a 2-yard run produced a first down at the Green Bay 26. From there, McNown dumped to Allred for 9, Santana Dotson stopped Allen for minus-2 and John Thierry pressured McNown into an incomplete pass. Edinger made a 37-yard field goal but had to try again when Alonzo Mayes was penalized for holding Rossum. "In warmups I knew I could kick a 47-yarder," Edinger said. "After making that first kick that was a good warmup for me. So I didn't feel any pressure on the second one."
The drive: 10 plays, 41 yards, 5:29. Bears 27, Packers 17.

GREEN BAY: Schroeder, 17-yard pass from Favre (Longwell kick), 1:58 left. How they scored: Favre hit Franks for 14. Walt Harris was penalized for holding Schroeder on a sideline route. On third and 5, Schroeder beat Harris on a sideline go route for 32 yards. On the next play, Schroeder beat Harris in the right corner for the touchdown. The Bears were unable to challenge the location of Schroeder's feet because fewer than 2 minutes remained.
The drive: Six plays, 73 yards, 1:17. Bears 27, Packers 24.
