Green Package vs Gold Package

Updated 4/22/2015

The Green Bay Packers, being the most awesome team in the NFL, actually have (and deserve) "two sets of fans". Beginning in the 1930s, the Pack began playing some of their home games in Milwaukee. They did this for financial reasons. Milwaukee being the bigger city just had more fans from which to draw. Therefore the gate receipts were bigger in the "Cream City", as Milwaukee is known.

In 1994, the Packers decided to return all games to Lambeau Field. This was done, because the Sky Boxes, concessions & parking began to draw much greater receipts in Green Bay.

But then-team president Bob Harlan did NOT want to forget all those who had season tickets to the Milwaukee games. Therefore the games at Lambeau were split between the original Green Bay season ticket holders (the Green Package) and the Gold package - the original Milwaukee season ticket holders.

The Gold Package, which I received in 2013 (after 23 years on the waiting list), consists of one (1) preseason game, the second (2nd) home game and the fifth (5th) home game. The rest of the schedule is attended by the Green ticket holders.

In 2015, the Gold Pack consists of:
Aug. 29th vs the Philadelphia Eagles;
Sept. 28th vs the Kansas City Chiefs;
& Nov. 16th vs the Detroit Lions.
